An Update Regarding State Test Scores

Student on computer

This past spring, students participated in computerized tests as part of the 2019 California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP).  If your child was in grades 3-8 or 11, they participated in the Smarter Balanced assessments in English language arts/literacy and mathematics.  Scores for the Smarter Balanced assessments will be available electronically within Parent Portal as they are released by the state.  Due to variations in testing schedules, some students will receive scores before others.  Parents will receive an e-mail from DoNotReply@aeries.com when their child’s test scores are available.  If you are unable to view the report online, you can ask for a copy at the front office of your child’s school.

Students in grades 5, 8, 11, and some students in grade 12 also participated in a new online science assessment based on the Next Generation Science Standards.  Scores for the science assessment will be released in a separate report in winter 2019.

When looking at these reports it is important to keep in mind that these scores should be considered as just one of many measures of student learning.  Remember, your child’s teacher is always your best resource when it comes to information regarding your child’s academic progress.  For more information about statewide testing in IUSD, please visit iusd.org/statewide-testing.
